Connecticut’s PRIDEFest Welcomes Project Open Books

Updated: Sep 21

Community members gathered at the North Haven Fair Grounds in Connecticut to celebrate the return of PRIDEFest on September 18, 2021. Project Open Books (POB) attended the celebration as an official vendor to promote its cause and provide the local community with inclusive LGBTQIA+ books. The POB team proudly distributed $400 in books to festival attendees. POB looks forward to future collaborations in southern Connecticut to further its mission to support queer authors and increase access to LGBTQIA+ literature.

PRIDEFest is part of PRIDE New Haven, a multi-day event coordinated by the New Haven Pride Center (NHPC). PRIDE New Haven is a visible infusion of LGBTQIA+ celebratory programming that highlights the culture, art, and history of Connecticut’s LGBTQIA+ community. NHPC’s purpose is to provide educational, cultural, and social enrichment for the LGBTQIA+ community, its allies, and members. Click here to learn more about NHPC.

Project Open Books attended Tampa PRIDE (Florida) in May 2021 and West Palm Beach Pride Market (Florida) in June 2021. These efforts signify the organization's commitment to connect with diverse readers in various locations.
